iPULSE girth: Discover Guillaume Hennequin’s testimony

We believe that customer experience is essential when riders choose their equipment. This is why we have decided to share with you several testimonials from riders who use the iSPORT products on a daily basis. Whether they are professionals, top level riders or amateurs, the iPULSE girth and the iJUMP INSIDE saddle provide them relevant data about their horses.

Take a look at the testimony of Guillaume Hennequin, user of the iPULSE girth…

Guillaume Hennequin is a French professional rider evolving at national and international levels. In his stables near Geneva, Switzerland, the rider offers various activities: boarding, trading, teaching, competition… A strong partnership has been built over the years between Guillaume and CWD. Always mindful about the well-being of his horses, Guillaume uses the iPULSE girth on a daily basis to follow their progress.

How do you use the iPULSE girth in your daily life?

At the moment, I mainly use the girth on my owners’ horses. It allows me to gain additional information about the character of each horse.

The interesting thing to look at is the heart rate and speed of recovery. It gives us extra information, relevant for each horse. I have noticed, for example, that some horses who didn’t seem to be emotional, reacted to situations that appeared to be insignificant. We often think we know our horse, and in the end, some events create more emotions that we had imagined.

By using the girth, I have an overview of the horse’s shape. Of course, as a rider, it’s important to work with our feeling, to trust our sensations. But with the iPULSE girth, I can put data on what I experience. It gives me reliable indications about the physical condition of each horse. I can then say: “My horse’s condition is getting better and better over the days”. Or, on the opposite, it can alert me about his health if he is too slow to recover for example.

What do you hope to gain from this tool over the long run?

With time, I hope to be able to offer the iPULSE girth to most of my students, and thus create a “database” of our horses. It would allow us to better monitor their physical condition depending on the exercises they perform with the girth.

My plan is to use the girth on the galloping track we have at the stables. It would allow us to gain precise information on the fitness state of each horse, according to their behavior during this cardio training. Depending on the data we collect, we can also work on different speeds and length. Before competitions, it would allow us to check that the horse is physically ready for jumping a course.

By using the girth, I also aim to raise awareness among my students. Thanks to the concrete data provided, it is easier to realize that the horse is an athlete who must be trained in order to perform. Having a horse in good shape requires a good diet, regular care, but also a well though-out and reasonable training. The next step is for riders to have this raise of awareness for themselves too. I really do believe that the iPULSE girth, among other equestrian innovations, can help us evolve towards that state of mind.
